The Labour Court rejected Mary Collins’s redundancy payment appeal against Mayo Travellers Support Group CLG, finding it was out of time. In a decision signed on 2 January 2025, the Court said it could not hear the underlying claim. Collins’s representative argued that the appeal was emailed before the 18 February 2024 deadline. The Court found the form submitted on 14 February invalid because it omitted the respondent’s address; the completed form arrived on 21 February, three days after the deadline. It found no exceptional circumstances to extend the time limit. The ruling did not decide whether Collins was entitled to redundancy pay.
