WRC could not hear redundancy complaint against dissolved partnership

Emer Egan’s redundancy complaint against Shonelly Limited and Slieve Bloom Ltd trading as Tullamore Veterinary Clinic was dismissed because the employing partnership had been dissolved and the WRC had no jurisdiction. Egan sought redundancy entitlements after her employment ended in May 2025; she immediately continued working for one partner in a new legal entity. One partner was willing to pay 50% of the entitlement sought, while the other argued that the transfer meant no redundancy was due. The WRC did not decide whether redundancy was owed or whether TUPE applied.
