The Workplace Relations Commission found Parnia Forouzandeh’s disability discrimination and victimisation complaints against Atlantic Technological University were not well founded. The decision, dated 13 August 2026, concerned the withdrawal of a conditional offer for a Technician (Biological Sciences) role.
Forouzandeh said ATU introduced a manager-grade reference requirement after making the offer and withdrew it without giving her a fair chance to provide the reference. ATU said required pre-employment checks were incomplete and the decision was not influenced by a medical condition. The adjudicator found no evidence ATU knew of her disability, but recommended a review of its recruitment process. Her race discrimination claim had been withdrawn.
