The Labour Court rejected R and R Mechanical Ltd T/A RR Projects’ appeal and upheld Peter Kiely’s entitlement to a redundancy payment. The determination was dated 25 October 2018. Mr Kiely worked for the company from June 2009 until November 2016 at a Galway site. After the company lost its contract there, it offered him six weeks’ work in Dublin, which it accepted was not reasonable alternative employment. The Court found that no reasonable alternative offer had been made and ordered a redundancy payment for his service from 15 June 2009 to 14 November 2016.
