In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that the Irish Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals pay two dog wardens £1,500 each after withdrawing an allowance for dog disposal duties. The Court said they had received the payment for years and meaningful negotiations had not preceded the change. It did not recommend the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's separate claim to upgrade a pound keeper's post and increase his pay. The recommendation was dated 21 May 1993.
