Labour Court upholds rejection of disability harassment complaint

The Labour Court on 8 July 2026 upheld the rejection of Tom Halpin’s complaint that Global Entserv Solutions Galway Limited harassed him on disability grounds. Halpin said errors administering payroll and the long-term illness scheme caused problems with pay, pension and leave and amounted to harassment. The employer accepted that errors occurred and significantly affected him, but said they were impersonal process failures unrelated to disability. The Court found that, although the errors caused significant problems, Halpin had not shown disability-related conduct that created a hostile or offensive environment.
