The Labour Court on 8 July 2026 upheld the rejection of Tom Halpin’s complaint that Global Entserv Solutions Galway Limited discriminated against him because of disability. Halpin said payroll and long-term illness scheme errors amounted to less favourable treatment. The employer accepted that errors occurred and had an impact, but said the failures were not discriminatory. The Court found no evidence that Halpin was treated less favourably because of disability or a suitable comparator. It also found his error-rate comparison unreliable because a working-from-home allowance error had affected standard payroll for years.
