WRC finds Adijat Alimi’s Equal Status complaint against Tesco unsuccessful

The Workplace Relations Commission found Adijat Alimi’s Equal Status complaint against Tesco Ireland unsuccessful after an incident at its Kinnegad store. The decision was dated 28 April 2026. Alimi said a staff member shouted at her and used a racial insult; Tesco said the employee had asked customers to step back while stocking shelves and denied any racial context. The adjudicator said CCTV footage and colleague evidence corroborated the staff member’s account, and found the complaints lacked a prima facie legal foundation.
