The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Tony Donohoe €25,000 after finding he was unfairly dismissed through selection for redundancy. The decision, dated 28 April 2026, concerned his complaint against G.C Autos Limited trading as Kylemore Cars.
Donohoe said the redundancy was not genuine or that he had been unfairly selected. The company maintained that a genuine redundancy had arisen. The adjudicator found that Donohoe had only one week to respond, was given no right of appeal and was not properly considered for other work despite his skills and willingness to consider alternatives.
