The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner's £300 settlement recommendation and rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's appeal on behalf of a general operative dismissed by Mahon McPhillips Limited. The decision was signed on 18 April 1997.
The union argued that two workers with less service were retained and sought £5,000 for alleged lost earnings. The company declined an invitation to attend the hearing.
