The Labour Court overturned a rejected minimum-notice claim and awarded a worker €4,566 in a determination dated 17 February 2023. The worker had been a full-time security officer for a supermarket chain until dismissal for gross misconduct in September 2020.
The Court said a linked case had found the dismissal unfair. It therefore held that the worker was entitled to six weeks’ paid notice, calculated at €761 a week.
