The Labour Court recommended that Nortel Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union agree on a third party to evaluate Grade 26 jobs, following changes in workers' responsibilities after new technology was introduced. The recommendation was dated 27 June 1996. The evaluation should include a job description prepared in consultation with employees and management and use a participative system. The Court said the evaluation was needed to establish the appropriate rate of pay.
