The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Securicor Limited’s two-rate pay structure for static security guards in Waterford. The recommendation was signed on 13 June 1995. The lower rate would apply only to protect marginal business, with the higher rate applying otherwise. The Court also recommended ending time-and-a-quarter overtime in favour of time-and-a-half, paying travel allowance where applicable, and paying double time plus hours worked on public holidays.
