The Labour Court recommended that B. O’Malley and Company pay a worker three weeks’ pay per year of service, plus statutory entitlement, in a redundancy dispute. The recommendation was signed on 6 December 1994. The worker had been employed in Loughrea for 17 years and had received seven weeks’ wages in lieu of notice. She was offered statutory redundancy, which she refused. The company did not attend the hearing. The Court said it had treated the employee in a shameful fashion.
