In 1991, the Labour Court did not recommend concession of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim over a proposed transfer of a section head from Waterford to Wexford. Its recommendation, dated 19 March, said Foras Aiseanna Saothair’s proposal was reasonable and should be accepted. The union argued the transfer would leave the remaining Waterford staff with an unacceptable workload. Management said activity there had fallen and a full-time section head was needed at Wexford as the centre planned to expand its courses and develop a permanent footing.
