In 1991, the Labour Court did not recommend that Midland Health Board concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claim to re-engage a temporary attendant. The recommendation was signed on 19 February 1991. The union sought the worker's return after the Board decided not to offer further contracts. The Board said it considered the worker's admitted conduct gross misconduct and had investigated the matter. The Court found the Board had acted reasonably and responsibly in the circumstances.
