The Workplace Relations Commission found no unlawful wage deduction after the Health Service Executive recovered shift allowance it said had been overpaid to Emergency Medical Technician David Lanigan. Adjudication officer Maria Kelly’s decision was dated 30 April 2025. The HSE said Lanigan had received €4,944.31 gross while working day shifts on Covid-19 Response Team duties and was not entitled to the allowance. The officer found his roster did not qualify for shift allowance and the repayment deductions were not unlawful. A separate complaint about written notice of changes to pay and hours was out of time, while a safety complaint was withdrawn. No award was recorded.
