In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that The Cutting Edge Hair Saloon pay an apprentice a sum equivalent to eight days’ pay after finding she was redundant. The worker said the saloon had replaced her despite having made no complaints about her work. The company said declining trade meant it could no longer afford to retain a second-year apprentice and that it had replaced her with a first-year apprentice. The recommendation was signed on 18 February 1991.
