The Labour Court did not recommend conceding a worker’s claims for pay parity with craftsmen or transport from Wexford Corporation. The recommendation was signed on 20 June 1988. The Irish Transport And General Workers' Union brought the claims for a waste water inspector who had worked for the Corporation since 1973. It argued that his duties and qualifications supported pay parity and that he needed his own car to do the job efficiently. The Corporation said he had not been recruited as a craftsman and that transport was provided when required.
