The Labour Court recommended that Drogheda Credit Union raise its redundancy offer to two clerical workers represented by the Association of Scientific Technical and Managerial Staffs (Astms). The recommendation was signed on 26 January 1987. The union had sought three weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlements. The credit union had offered each worker £1,500 inclusive of statutory entitlements. The Court recommended 2.5 weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlement, and recommended that the union accept the revised offer.
