In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union’s claim against Wyeth (Ireland) Limited for compensation over shift changes and lost overtime. The claim covered 68 workers who lost shift or overtime earnings over 19 weeks in 1985, and one worker who lost overtime in 1983. The source put the total earnings loss at about £50,000. Wyeth said the losses followed a fall in market demand outside its control. The recommendation was signed on 22 January 1987.
