The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union defer its claim for better pensions for about 80 factory workers at C.P.I./Marley Flooring and Plumbing Limited. The recommendation was signed on 19 January 1987. The union said the pension scheme offered poor value and had not been reviewed as promised. The company accepted the claim was valid but said it could not fund improvements while making losses. The Court recommended that both sides keep the position under review.
