Labour Court rules Jobman Workwear staff fall under Shirtmaking committee

The Labour Court decided that the Shirtmaking Joint Labour Committee covered workers at Jobman Workwear Limited’s factory in Cavan. The decision was signed on 22 December 1987. Jobman Workwear Limited had applied for a decision on whether the committee covered its employees. The National Union Of Tailors And Garments Workers argued that the garments made by the company were more appropriately covered by the Tailoring Joint Labour Committee. The company said its protective workwear came under the Shirtmaking committee. The Court decided that the Shirtmaking committee operated for the workers concerned.
