WRC says Avista probation review timing was outside employment information law

The Workplace Relations Commission found Julieanne Lambert’s complaint against Avista Clg was not well founded, ruling that probation review timing was not covered by the Terms of Employment (Information) Act. The decision was dated 29 September 2025. Lambert said reviews due after three, six and nine months were late or missed and that changes to their timing had not been notified. Avista argued that review timing was not covered by the Act and said operational difficulties delayed the process. The officer did not decide whether Lambert had a contractual entitlement to the reviews.
