The Workplace Relations Commission awarded John Clinton €800 after finding Blindstyle Limited had failed to provide written terms of employment, in a decision dated 11 July 2025. Clinton said he had never received a contract or other document setting out his terms. Blindstyle Limited said it had provided a contract and company handbook. The WRC found the company had not established that compliant written terms were issued. It rejected the suggestion of penalisation, finding no evidence of a protected act under the Act.
