The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) rejected all three complaints by former HR employee Valerie McDonagh against the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul Council of Ireland trading as Society of Saint Vincent De Paul (Svp)(Vincents). Its adjudication officer found the complaints not well founded in a decision dated 25 September 2025.

McDonagh alleged she was dismissed in retaliation for raising concerns about vetting connected with recruitment for a service caring for children. The charity said she was dismissed during probation because she was a poor fit and had communication issues, and denied a link to protected disclosures. The officer found the evidence did not establish that the dismissal was because of protected disclosures and accepted communication issues as its basis. The WRC also rejected her complaint that a change to her job title and team structure had not been properly notified.
