The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ordered Cairde Credit Union Ltd to pay Kathy Coleman €10,000 and comply with rules protecting employees’ terms after a transfer. Adjudication Officer Gaye Cunningham’s decision was dated 1 May 2025. The WRC found that a proposed Monday-to-Saturday rota, including every third Saturday, would fundamentally change Coleman’s longstanding working conditions.

Coleman, an office assistant, alleged that after the transfer the credit union sought changes to her hours and work location and threatened redundancy when she objected. Cairde said it consulted her about operational changes and had not imposed them without agreement. The WRC also upheld a complaint about transferred terms without a further award; it rejected the alleged sham redundancy complaint because no dismissal had occurred, and her equality complaint was withdrawn.
