The Labour Court varied a ruling on Lina Leliugiene’s complaint against Emerald Contract Cleaners (Ireland) Limited, finding it was filed too late for the complaint to be investigated. The decision was signed on 14 July 2026. Leliugiene alleged the company failed to ensure her terms and conditions transferred and gave inadequate or misleading information about the transfer. The Court found the WRC received her complaint on 5 December 2023, beyond the maximum 12-month time limit, and said it lacked jurisdiction to consider the substance of the allegations. It changed the cited legal basis for the time limit to section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015.
