The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Daniela Bantus compensation after finding Somerset Tavern Limited, trading as the DL Restaurant, reduced her contracted hours and closed the restaurant without notice. Adjudication Officer Penelope McGrath awarded €300 over changed contract terms, €663 for unpaid monetary entitlements and €299 for accrued leave and two hours worked. The decision, dated 28 July 2025, rejected Bantus’s collective redundancies complaint; the officer said she did not have the two years’ service required for statutory redundancy pay. Somerset Tavern Limited did not attend the hearing.
