WRC rejects Wanpin Cai’s complaints against Purple Acorn Limited

The WRC found that two complaints by Wanpin Cai against Purple Acorn Limited were not well founded. The decision was dated 27 January 2025 and was later corrected to clarify that the hours in question were per two weeks. Cai complained about a €60 wage deduction and alleged that part-time staff were paid less than full-time staff. The adjudicator found no illegal deduction and accepted the employer’s evidence that pay rates reflected qualifications and experience, not whether employees worked part time.
