The Workplace Relations Commission found that Kiely Transport Limited unlawfully deducted €378.23 from Kieran Sheehan’s wages to cover repairs to a motorist’s wing mirror. The decision was dated 27 January 2025. Sheehan said he accepted responsibility for damaging the mirror but had not agreed in writing to the deduction. The company did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator found there was no written contract term or other written provision authorising the deduction and directed the company to pay Sheehan €378.23 net.
