WRC upholds four complaints by Monika Regan against The Saucy Butcher

The Workplace Relations Commission upheld four complaints by Monika Regan against The Saucy Butcher trading as Daniel Lane/ 365Work Hours. In a decision dated 11 March 2025, it directed separate payments of €1,040 in compensation for missing written employment terms, €2,040 over rest breaks, €520 for public holidays and €377 in unpaid wages. Regan said she was hired under a verbal agreement, paid €13 an hour and had 30 minutes’ pay deducted each day for breaks she generally could not take. She also said she was not paid for the Christmas holidays. The respondent did not attend the resumed hearing or provide evidence or compliance records. The Adjudicator found all four complaints well founded, noting the seriousness of the ongoing break breach and Regan’s short service.
