WRC dismisses Catherine Sheehan’s complaint against Cork County Council

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Catherine Sheehan’s complaint against Cork County Council in a decision dated 9 April 2024. She alleged the Council failed to notify her in writing of a change to her employment terms. The Council argued the matter had already been dealt with in earlier proceedings. Sheehan said she had struggled to get replies about payments due to her and believed her complaint had prompted progress. The adjudication officer found the disputed matter had already been settled by the Labour Court and dismissed the complaint as vexatious under section 42(1) of the Workplace Relations Act 2015. The merits were not decided.
