The Workplace Relations Commission found that Iss Ireland Limited t/a Iss Facility Services fairly dismissed Przemyslaw Golczewski for gross misconduct. The decision, dated 5 April 2024, rejected his unfair-dismissal complaint as not well-founded. The case followed concerns about incomplete work logs and Golczewski writing his initials over another employee’s initials on a task sheet. He disputed the allegations, saying he did his assigned work, and challenged the investigation. WRC Adjudication Officer Gráinne Quinn found the investigation and disciplinary process sufficiently thorough, with enough information for the employer to reach its conclusions and opportunities for Golczewski to present his account. The officer concluded that dismissal was a reasonable and proportionate response. She also found he was not entitled to minimum notice.
