The Workplace Relations Commission found that Edward Kenny was unfairly dismissed by Acm Building Contractors Ltd. without fair procedures and awarded him €2,650, equivalent to four weeks’ pay. Adjudication Officer Valerie Murtagh’s decision was dated 23 September 2026. Kenny said the company did not tell him he had been dismissed. Acm Building Contractors Ltd. did not attend the hearing. The WRC found that his loss of earnings after dismissal was due to incapacity for work, rather than the dismissal.
