The Workplace Relations Commission found Fiona Molloy entitled to a redundancy payment after the closure of the taxi business where she worked. The decision, dated 5 April 2024, based the entitlement on her continuous employment from 17 September 2017 to 31 July 2023 and gross weekly pay of €396.80. The business owner, Mr Patrick Gilsenan, trading as Call-A-Car, accepted that Molloy was made redundant and that an entitlement was due, but said he could not pay it. The decision found the complaint well founded and said the respondent was not able to pay at the time.
