The Workplace Relations Commission found that Cuala Senior Care Ltd. did not breach employment terms rules in a complaint brought by Aliyah Deery. The decision, dated 16 July 2024, said Deery received written terms within the statutory one-month period. Deery said she received only two hours of work shadowing and no further hours. The company said her availability and location made it difficult to schedule work. The adjudicator found that the written terms were issued on 21 September 2023, two days after the company said her employment began, and held that the complaint was not well founded.
