WRC rejects landlord discrimination complaint; separate claim withdrawn

The Workplace Relations Commission found Krzysztof Ceglarski’s Equal Status complaint against landlord Pat O'Brien not well founded. A separate Employment Equality complaint was withdrawn at the start of proceedings because that Act did not apply. Ceglarski said an eviction notice in Cork discriminated against him on grounds of race and family status. O'Brien denied discrimination. The adjudicator said Ceglarski’s evidence about the reason for the notice was speculative and contradictory. The decision was dated 7 May 2024.
