WRC awards construction worker €2,520 for missing employment terms

The Workplace Relations Commission awarded construction worker Gerard Kelleher €2,520 for Earthworks Profiling Limited's failure to provide written employment terms, and €1,890 for three weeks of unpaid minimum notice. The decision was dated 24 November 2023. The WRC also found Kelleher entitled to statutory redundancy pay, subject to confirmation that his employment was insurable. The payment is calculated at two weeks per year of reckonable service, or part of a year, plus one week, using a gross weekly wage of €630. His unfair dismissal complaint was withdrawn at the hearing; the respondent did not attend.
