The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) awarded Siobhan Creed €1,080 on each of two complaints against Elaines Sewing Shop for failures to provide written employment terms and notice of a change to those terms. The decision was dated 17 January 2024. Creed said she was unfairly dismissed while on sick leave. The WRC found there had been no dismissal, so her unfair-dismissal complaint was not upheld. Her minimum-notice complaint also failed, while a second minimum-notice complaint was withdrawn at the hearing. The officer found Creed had remained employed on temporary lay-off, but the respondent had not clearly communicated that arrangement or notified her in writing of the change. The two awards were compensation for those employment-notice breaches.
