The Workplace Relations Commission found Helen Finnan was not unfairly dismissed by Ivy Technology, accepting that her role was made redundant after its client withdrew funding. The WRC dated its decision 31 January 2023. Finnan argued that her redundancy selection had been predetermined and that other staff continued to do her work. Ivy Technology said the client-funded position ended as part of restructuring. The adjudicator accepted that the client brought planning work in-house and automated the repair scheduling role. The complaint under the Unfair Dismissals Act was not well founded.
