The Workplace Relations Commission awarded deli assistant Stephen Flanagan €1,550 for Green Lemon Limited’s failure to provide written terms of employment within two months. The decision was dated 15 September 2023. The WRC also awarded €775 because the company failed to notify Flanagan in writing when it reduced his hourly rate from €12.50 to €11 and his working days from five to two. A further €1,550 was awarded for the failure to provide written core terms within five days. Green Lemon, trading as Pea & Pod and now as Reuben's Deli, accepted that it had not provided written terms but said Flanagan’s employment ended when the café closed in December 2021. The WRC found he remained employed when it reopened in January 2022. His Payment of Wages complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
