WRC rules Frederika Catharina Agricola’s pay complaint out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Frederika Catharina Agricola’s Payment of Wages complaint because it was filed outside the six-month time limit. The merits were not decided. The decision was dated 15 September 2023. Agricola claimed unpaid final-month salary and €346 for a hotel stay after she said she was housed in mixed-sex accommodation with a man she did not know. Economic Sense Limited denied owing the money and said the hotel expense had not been approved. The WRC also found it lacked jurisdiction over the hotel expense because expenses are excluded from the Payment of Wages Act.
