The Workplace Relations Commission found three complaints by Network Technician Stephen Darling against Esb Networks were not well founded. The decision, dated 13 December 2022, concerned the company’s MyTime digital timesheet system, which replaced paper timesheets. Darling argued that changes to payroll processing altered his employment terms without consultation or consent. The WRC found his terms and conditions had not been changed unilaterally; the change concerned work practices. His complaint under the Terms of Employment (Information) Act was not well founded. He also said delayed overtime and allowance payments were victimisation linked to his Independent Workers Union membership. The WRC found no causal link to his membership and attributed the delays to his refusal to use MyTime. His Payment of Wages complaint alleged the delays were unlawful deductions; the WRC found the €1,235 payment was delayed but did not amount to an unlawful deduction. All three complaints failed.
