The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Daniel Okroj a total of €3,042 across four successful complaints against ND Signs Ltd over employment statements, annual leave and public holiday pay. Adjudication Officer Kevin Baneham issued the decision dated 5 January 2023. Okroj, a skilled vinyl applicator, said he was underpaid, had not received a contract and was owed leave pay. ND Signs said his hourly rate was €12.50 and that it had provided a contract. The WRC found no basis for his claimed €19.50 hourly rate and insufficient evidence that the company had terminated his employment. The WRC awarded €500 for the missing statement of core terms and €1,900 for the missing statement of employment terms. It also awarded €500 for seven days of unused annual leave and €142 for two public holidays during lay-off. Four other complaints, including claims of underpayment, minimum notice and penalisation, were not well founded.
