WRC finds Beata Porubska entitled to redundancy payment

The Workplace Relations Commission found Beata Porubska entitled to a statutory redundancy payment after deciding that her employment with Ballyleague Mushrooms Limited Breffni Mushrooms ended by redundancy. Adjudication Officer Emer O'Shea dated the decision 1 February 2022. The payment was based on Porubska's employment from 25 September 2017 to 14 February 2020 and gross weekly pay of €307.26. The company argued that Porubska had rejected alternative work and a later offer to return to her original position. The officer found the January offers at other farms unreasonable given their distance from Ballyleague, and the offer to resume work there was made outside the statutory four-week time limit.
