In 1993, the Labour Court upheld Iarnrod Eireann's appeal and set aside a Rights Commissioner's recommendation for an ex-gratia payment to a depotperson at Limerick Junction. The decision concerned overtime allocation during the Thurles Feile weekend in August 1992.
The Court found that the worker's relative overall earnings compared with the other depotperson meant no injustice had occurred. The National Bus And Rail Union had argued that the worker was denied his share of the overtime; the company said his roster prevented his release from Limerick Junction.
