The Labour Court upheld the decision that Sam Telford was not entitled to statutory redundancy pay. Its determination was signed on 21 August 2019. Telford, an apprentice electrician, said he had not notified John Lee Electrical Limited that he intended to claim redundancy because he believed this could affect payment in lieu of notice. The company said he had not submitted part B of the RP9 form or otherwise notified it. The Court found he had not met the statutory notice requirement.
