The Labour Court upheld a €1,000 notice payment to Ms Naida Dozo after Mark Doyle T/A Acton’s Solicitors appealed. The determination was signed on 20 December 2021.

Ms Dozo worked for the firm from 20 March 2018 until 30 March 2020 and earned €500 a week. The Adjudication Officer had found her complaint under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts well founded and awarded two weeks’ pay in lieu of notice.

In a linked redundancy appeal, the Labour Court found that Ms Dozo’s employment ended by redundancy. With more than two years’ continuous service, she was entitled to two weeks’ statutory notice. The Court affirmed the original decision and directed the firm to pay €1,000.
