The Labour Court upheld Ms Naida Dozo’s redundancy entitlement after Mark Doyle T/A Acton's Solicitors appealed. The determination was dated 20 December 2021. The Court found she had not resigned when she left the solicitor’s office during the early COVID-19 pandemic; she was on paid leave until 30 March 2020, when her role was made redundant.

The employer argued that Ms Dozo had resigned before the role was made redundant. The Court found she was entitled to a redundancy payment for service from 20 March 2018 to 30 March 2020, based on the agreed weekly pay of €500. The determination affirmed the complaint and upheld the Adjudication Officer’s decision under CA-00039329-003.
